Sue’s Celebration of 70: A "40 Over 40" Fashion Photoshoot Adventure
Our feature today is all about Sue! Sue is 70 years old and isn't slowing down yet. She grew up in the grocery business and went on to own a successful market in Talent. Afterward, she became a chaplain at Asante for 10 fulfilling years. She recently took part in our 40 Over 40 Project. This project allows up to record and share the stories of 40 women over 40 through luxury photography. This project is all about highlighting the distinctive beauty and narratives of women in Southern Oregon, just like Sue.
Words of Wisdom
We asked Sue to share a piece of advice that she would give to her younger self and she said this:
“Always remember to take care of yourself, be kind to yourself and your body, and practice self-care and good things will flow from that.”
Her words are an inspiration to younger generations and are an encouragement in a world that so often overlooks self-care and being kind to oneself.
A Life-Changing Experience
Sue shared her life-changing experience with us and said this:
“At age 50 I realized the direction of my life was not what I wanted for myself. I made bold decisions to make changes. I began a journey of self discovery which has resulted in knowing myself and my relationship with God better than I could have ever imagined! As a result, I am married to the love of my life.
What an inspiration! Sue realized that her life was not producing what she had dreamed of for herself so she made the choice to make things happen for herself. This is a wonderful piece of advice for generations today who can often feel "stuck". Sue is living proof that you can make a change and it's never to late to chase the life you want.
A Day of Glamour and Fun
Sue arrived at our studio with her husband for a wardrobe fitting. She relished in trying on dozens of beautiful gowns from our collections. She mentioned feeling like royalty during her fitting and was able to choose a selection of gowns that fit her like a glove!
On the day of her photo session, Sue arrived with an ear-to-ear smile, ready for the excitement of the upcoming afternoon that would ultimately allow her to see her beauty reflected through photography. She was absolutely amazed and inspired when she looked in the mirror after her professional hair and makeup artist had finished preparing her for the photoshoot.
Celebrating Sue
Sue's incredible story and life experiences contribute to the incredible power of this project. She proves to us all that there's no better time than right now to chase your dreams. Because of our session celebrating Sue through photography, we are better off for knowing her and can take her advice, inspiration, and joy to heart.
Sue reminds us that there is adventure at every age. We thank her for allowing us to share her story in the hopes that it will inspire younger generations. This truly remarkable woman has led a fulfilling life thusfar and we are sure that she has only the best days still ahead of her!
